A planned picnic dinner in Del Mar turned out to be an amazing Concert at the Beach for us today. We arrived at about 5 with fruit and dessert and spread out our picnic blankets at the park area and waited for the Fassett's to come. Once we realized they were running late we hiked down to the beach and Olivia and Kaleb boogie boarded with J.J. while Nathaniel and I played in the sand. It was Olivia's first time boogie boarding and she did amazingly well despite a big tumble from a big wave. She got up and went for it again. We were so proud of her courage and determination to learn to boogie board. Once the sun started to set we headed up to the park and met up with the Fassett's. They brought pizza and we enjoyed dinner together. After dinner the younger kids headed over to the playground. Jolie, Olivia, Caden and Nathaniel played on the structure, went on the slides and swings. The bigger kids (J.J., Kaleb, and Luke) went down to the beach for a game of football. It was nice to have fun summer music playing in the background from the band. We all had such a great time it was so hard to leave.
