Yesterday Nathaniel rolled over for the very first time. It was amazing! I had placed him on our ping pong table on his tummy for some tummy time and asked big brother Kaleb to keep an eye on him while I changed Olivia's diaper. Then I heard to much surprise Kaleb scream "Oh my gosh mom he rolled over". At first I though it was just on accident. I put him back on his tummy and ta-dah he did it again. We were so excited to watch him that we kept putting him on his tummy - sort of in disbelief. Every time he rolled over we all cheered. Olivia, Kaleb and I. It must be nice to have a whole cheer squad. What a lucky little man. Then all sort of emotions hit me...my teeny little baby is growing up. I started to tear out of sadness because time just goes by so quickly. I know this is the beginning for many more milestones to come for Nathaniel. While it's exciting to watch him develop(especially given his rough start at just 14.9oz) it is also hard for me because he is my last baby. I love babies so much and if it weren't for my inability to carry to term I would have half a dozen. And now knowing Nathaniel is my last, I want to cherish every moment of his smallness.
